Ordinary Magic.

“It’s important to do art,” says Josh Daniel. “It should be something that… you need to do.” Josh has been working in San Francisco for a little over a decade, which is quite a feat considering the significant changes the city has experienced in that time. As the cost of living rises exponentially, artists are leaving neighborhoods that they helped nurture and beautify for decades. You’d never guess this was the case by following Josh around the city. He has a happy-go-lucky way of meandering from the art supply store to his printmaking studio, finding inspiration for sketches and screen prints in everyday life. Check…

Betty’s Back.

It’s been nearly a year since our production vehicle Betty joined the 12FPS crew. Back then, she had an orange-and-white paint job and a bum engine. Fixing her up felt like a passion project, but once she was up and running, it didn’t take long to realize that Betty means (serious) business. We are classical storytellers for the digital age, and our sunny yellow van has an old-fashioned look that’s fused with timely technology—a 2016 archetype of romantic road-tripping. She rocks her own Instagram account and hashtag, complete with an ongoing journal where you can experience compelling stories of travels to remote locations, like the desolate wilderness…

Create With Purpose

As artists, we are constantly inspired to create impact: on the world, on fellow artists, and on ourselves. This desire to make a difference through creativity, to put momentum behind ideas, has guided every 12FPS project since before we officially existed! In 2006, the Adobe Foundation launched its flagship program, Adobe Youth Voices. Its goal was to ignite creativity in young artists around the world by working with educators and providing them resources for rich digital storytelling. Through a stroke of serendipity, our founder Adam Shaening-Pokrasso struck up a fantastic partnership with AYV that has helped shape our story and values….

Forget Bigfoot. This guy caught a Pegasus.

How do you capture a phenomenon that’s invisible to the naked eye? This guy took a flying leap to find the solution. The story of our logo is tied to a late 1800’s photographer with an ever-changing name. Eadweard Muybridge was a wandering Brit who also went by Muggridge, Muygridge and Maybridge. His simplest alias was Helios, the Greek god of the sun, a name that appears on many of his photographs. Muybridge was as mercurial as his monikers, and that was the key to his success. As a young man, Muybridge worked as a bookseller in New York City and San Francisco….

Room to Roam.

Storytelling has evolved. 12FPS is a creative agency that transcends mediums to promote revolutionary ideas. We’re excited to unveil a powerful new website that pulls back the curtain on our creative process. As we started building it late last year, we dreamed up a platform for our wildest ideas. We found that sharing projects only on Instagram and Facebook was not enough…some stories need a bit more room to roam! 12FPS is all about authentic storytelling, and here we reveal behind-the-scenes photos and anecdotes from San Francisco, Santa Fe, New York City and beyond. We approach every project with an eye for compelling stories that traverse different styles and formats. We enjoy working with…

Meet Betty.

The road trip has been a hallowed American tradition since the dawn of the commercial automobile. Every classic adventure—the Disneyland pilgrimage, the Route 66 joyride—came with an essential array of photo opportunities. Postcards, Polaroids and interminable slideshows proved to friends back in suburbia that you really did ride Dumbo or stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Our story begins with Betty, a 1980’s ambulance with a dead engine and a hungry look in her headlights. Our first glimpse of her is in an overgrown Colorado Springs backyard, but we can already imagine 1,000 adventures at her helm. Road tripping is…

Notes from a Mogul.

When you have the opportunity to speak with someone as influential as Alan Webber, you don’t expect him to be the one taking notes. Webber is the former editorial director of Harvard Business Review, and co-founder of Fast Company. Adam and Dwight met him at Creative Startups 2015, an Albuquerque startup accelerator with serious support from a national network of business leaders. As we discussed the evolution of 12FPS with him, he intently scribbled down his thoughts on a pair of notecards. Our early clients ranged from scrappy startups to top tech companies. As the 12FPS team grew and our creative network…
